We communicated earlier that the entire Hoxhunt team is 100 percent committed to delivering an outstanding customer experience during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak. For the last couple of weeks, we have been serving our customers from the safety of our homes. As we have received some questions from users regarding the continuity of the simulations, we wanted to address this topic in this short update.

Why Does Hoxhunt Continue to Send Simulations?

Employee training is valuable at all times as it can prepare people for attacks, keep them alert, impact their behavior, and mitigate the risk. Attackers move fast, and they continuously deliver new sophisticated attack types. This hasn’t changed during the time of the global pandemic.

At Hoxhunt, our threat analyst team has seen growth in emerging phishing attacks and scams related to coronavirus. We have come across hundreds of coronavirus emails by now, and the chances are high that there could be thousands.

Just yesterday, the FBI confirmed that there have been a variety of fraud schemes that are trying to take advantage of people being vulnerable during these difficult times.

Typically, attackers appear as an authority like the World Health Organization (WHO), spreading malware or using phishing emails promising government or financial assistance to steal personal information.

Why does Hoxhunt keep sending simulations to your users as usual?

People spend a disproportionate amount of time on their devices due to the circumstances. Attackers know this, and they try to take advantage of people making a mistake out of fear and uncertainty.

We think it’s important to keep sending the simulations to keep reminding employees that attackers are out there, and they are using the pandemic to their advantage.
